Subaru Ascent vs. 2019 Volkswagen Atlas

  • With Subaru, you know the all-wheel drive is standard on the Ascent, but with the Atlas, you'll have to pay thousands more for 4MOTION® all-wheel drive.
  • When drivers in Waterbury want additional coverage, they know they can rely on Subaru to offer unlimited Rust Perforation, while the Volkswagen Atlas gives coverage up to 100,000 miles.
  • The base Atlas offers 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the Ascent provides 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
  • You get more fuel economy in the Subaru Ascent than you will in the Volkswagen Atlas.
  • On the Ascent Touring, you get leather-trimmed upholstery and SiriusXM Satellite Radio standard, but on the Atlas? You won't find those features even on the SEL FWD trim.

Subaru Ascent vs. Toyota Highlander

  • While the Subaru Ascent offers all-wheel drive standard, you will have to pay extra for that feature on the Highlander, which will again cost thousands more.
  • These days smartphone integration is a must, which is why the Highlander falls so short by not offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard, but adding them as an available feature.
  • If you love dozens of music channels, you'll appreciate how SiriusXM Satellite Radio is standard on the Ascent, while the Toyota Highlander makes you pay extra for that luxury.
  • While the Highlander may have more horsepower, it does result in a hit for fuel economy, and even with that gain in performance, it still offers less pound-feet of torque compared to the Ascent.
  • You'll get more headroom in the Ascent than in the Highlander, and significantly more passenger volume with 153.3 cubic feet in the Ascent versus the Highlander's 144.9 cubic feet.
  • If you live in Norwalk and love traveling with family, the Ascent can give you more cargo space, with 17.8 cubic feet possible, while the Highlander tops out at 13.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

Subaru Ascent vs. Ford EcoSport

  • The Ford brand is known for power, and the EcoSport offers four-wheel drive, but that doesn't mean it's more powerful than the Subaru Ascent. The EcoSport offers 166 horsepower and 149 pound-feet of torque to the Ascent's 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
  • With your Subaru Ascent, you'll get a standard touchscreen infotainment display, while the Ford EcoSport makes you pay extra to get the touchscreen infotainment system.
  • Get more headroom in your Subaru Ascent than in the Ford EcoSport, plus the Ford model offers 91.1 cubic feet of passenger volume. The Ascent? It offers 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume so you and your favorite guests can spread out comfortably.
  • The Ford EcoSport tows a maximum of 2,000 pounds, while you can tow up to 5,000 pounds with select Subaru Ascent trims, making it easier to haul your favorite boat or camper.
  • Interested in driving around Brewster NY? The Ascent offers seating for up to eight, while the EcoSport maxes out at five passengers.
