While the base level 2021 Subaru Ascent came with plenty of great features to meet the needs of most buyers, it did offer an additional three trim levels to provide some flexibility for buyers. When you are shopping for previously owned models of the 2021 Ascent at Granite Subaru, you will have the benefit of choosing from a variety of trims and configurations to get exactly the features you want.

Here's a closer look at the trim levels and packages that were available for the 2021 Subaru Ascent:

Subaru Ascent

The base level 2021 Subaru Ascent does not have a special name, as the base trim levels on many models do. The entry-level Ascent seats eight passengers, with a bench seat in both the second and third rows. Exterior features included 18-inch aluminum alloy machine-finished wheels, windshield wiper de-icers, and an optional power panoramic glass sunroof.

Under the hood, the 2021 Subaru Ascent has a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that puts out 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Subar's Boxer engine has a horizontal configuration known for its improved handling and efficiency. The engine is paired to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission that comes with an eight-speed manual mode. Paddle shifters are also included on the steering wheel. The same powertrain is included on all trim levels.

All-wheel drive came standard with the 2021 Subaru Ascent, giving drivers the flexibility to take it off road or to manage challenging conditions. The system included an X-Mode for tough terrain, and that included hill descent control for safer handling. Towing capacity for the Ascent was 5,000 pounds.

Plenty of great comfort and convenience features were included on the base trim for the Ascent. Standard features included tri-zone automatic climate control, a 6.5-inch display for the infotainment system, Bluetooth streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and numerous USB ports for charging and streaming devices. The Ascent put a focus on comfort and convenience, and it came through in the interior details, such as the whopping 18 cupholders found throughout the cabin.

Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology came standard on the 2021 Ascent, and it included advanced adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and lane keep assist. Other safety features included steering responsive LED headlights, a belt reminder system for the second and third row, and trailer stability assist.

All trim levels on the 2021 Subaru Ascent came with the same powertrain, so you can count on the same reliable performance and adept handling, no matter what trim level you choose. With the Premium trim level of the Ascent, you'll see a few changes from the outside in. Exterior additions include things like rear window privacy glass and body color side mirrors.

Moving inside, you'll see upgrades on the Premium trim level like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and more points of adjustment on the power driver's seat. The option was also introduced on the Premium level to have seating for either 7 or 8 passengers, depending on the choice of bench seating or captain's chairs in the second row. Upgrades to the comfort and convenience features include push button start, climate control for the second row, and power rear gate access.

Options packages started to become available at this trim level. The All-Weather Package included heated side mirrors and heated front seats. Another package included a navigation system, a panoramic moonroof, and a stowable cargo cover.

Additional safety features on the Premium trim included a pre-collision warning system, blind spot safety, and cross traffic alert.

The Limited trim level continued to add great features to the 2021 Subaru Ascent. The Limited trim also offers the choice of 7- or 8-person seating, but it adds a host of interior upgrades. The driver's seat was given 10 points of adjustment, and the passenger seat could be adjusted four ways. The driver's seat also got lumbar support. In the rear, the second row was given retractable sunshades and heated seats. The steering wheel was also heated.

Upgraded convenience features included push button start and a power rear gate with an automatic lock button.

The exterior also got slight upgrades on the Limited trim level also. LED fog lights were added, integrated turn signals on the side mirrors, and lower door cladding with chrome accents. The wheels also got a boost to 20 inches.

Additional safety features included reverse automatic braking.

An options package was offered for the Limited trim level that included a panoramic moonroof, a multimedia navigation system, and a premium audio system with 14 speakers.

The top trim level for the 2021 Subaru Ascent was the Touring. It included all the best features on the Ascent, plus a few extras.

The exterior of the Touring was upgraded with a high-gloss black grille, power folding side mirrors with satin chrome accents and integrated turn signals, and chrome door handles. The interior was upgraded with wood grain-patterned trim, perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, and ventilated front seats.

Technology upgrades included an eight-inch multimedia navigation system and a premium audio system - the same features that were optional upgrades on the lower trim level.
