How the Pay Once Program Works

It's simple. Here's a real example:

1. You come in for a brake job (or any other qualifying repair). Your brake pads and rotors are worn out, so you bring your car to our service center in Hudson, and we replace them. You pay for that repair one time, just like you would anywhere else.
2. Your brakes wear out again. This time, it's free. The brake pads are FREE, the labor is FREE.
3. You never pay for that repair again. No limit, no expiration. Once you've paid for a qualifying repair, it's covered every time you need it, for as long as you own the vehicle.
4. You don't pay for the same parts. New pads, rotors, whatever the repair needs. Covered.
5. You don't pay for the labor. The work our technicians do is covered too. Not a discount. Free.

That's the whole program. No enrollment, no membership fee, nothing to sign up for. Your first qualifying repair of $200 or more starts your coverage automatically.

There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy. Coverage begins automatically the first time you pay for a qualifying repair at our Hudson, New Hampshire Service Center, and it stays with that repair for as long as you own the vehicle. The next time that repair is needed, it's already covered.

What's Covered?

The Pay Once Program starts with the two repairs drivers pay for most often, plus other eligible mechanical work.

Brakes

Pads, rotors, calipers, and related components. Pay for a qualifying brake repair once, and that repair is covered for as long as you own the vehicle.

Batteries

Pay for a qualifying battery replacement once, and your next replacement is free for as long as you own the vehicle.

Other Qualifying Parts and Labor

Other mechanical repairs on your Subaru may qualify as well, parts and labor included. Ask your Service Advisor or contact us by phone for complete coverage details.

What's Not Covered

A lifetime promise only means something if you know exactly where its edges are, so here they are in plain English. The most common exclusions are:

• Parts that were not listed on your original repair order (your coverage attaches to the specific repair you paid for)
• Cosmetic and trim items such as body panels, bumpers, glass, upholstery and door trim, handles, bulbs, belts, filters, wheels and rims, hardware, and paint (ask our team if you're unsure about a specific part)
• Conditions that existed before your coverage began
• Individual repairs under $200 per line on the original repair order

This is the short list drivers ask about most, not the complete warranty terms, which your Service Advisor can provide anytime. Everything else works exactly the way this page describes: pay for a qualifying repair once, and that repair is covered for as long as you own the vehicle. Not sure whether a repair qualifies? How Is Pay Once Different From the 10 Year/150,000 Mile Warranty?

Every new Subaru purchased at Granite Subaru includes a complimentary limited 10 year/150,000-mile warranty powered by Allstate. That coverage protects your Subaru's powertrain against covered breakdowns, and it runs until you reach 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Pay Once works on a completely different principle. It is not tied to your powertrain, your purchase date, or your mileage. It attaches to the repair itself. Pay for a qualifying brake, battery, or other eligible mechanical repair at our Hudson, New Hampshire Service Center, and that repair is protected from then on. If the same repair fails again at 160,000 miles, you will not pay for it a second time.

The two programs also cover different parts of ownership. Like nearly all vehicle warranties, the 10 year/150K coverage excludes wear items such as brake pads and batteries. Pay Once picks up exactly those repairs. The warranty protects the powertrain, and Pay Once protects the repairs a warranty never touches. And you do not need to have bought your vehicle from us; any vehicle serviced at Granite Subaru can qualify.

No. Pay Once is tied to where your vehicle is serviced, not where it was purchased. If you bought your vehicle from another dealership, from a private seller, or even out of state, it can still qualify. Bring it to our service center in Hudson, New Hampshire, and your first qualifying repair of $200 or more starts your lifetime coverage on that repair. There's nothing to enroll in and nothing to buy.

Does Pay Once Coverage Transfer If I Sell My Vehicle?

No. Pay Once coverage lasts for as long as you own the vehicle and ends when the vehicle is sold or transferred. Coverage also stays with the vehicle it started on, so a covered repair on one car does not carry over to another vehicle in your household. Each vehicle starts its own coverage with its own first qualifying repair.
