2023 Subaru Ascent Touring Trim

If you're looking for a large, family friendly SUV that is both safe and fun to drive, the Subaru Ascent is a perfect choice. Not only is it a stylish SUV that offers impressive handling across a variety of terrains, but it also has a spacious cabin that seats up to eight passengers comfortably. It's packed with features that make the driving experience even more fun, whether you're on your daily commute or heading out for a longer trip, and it has a host of driver assistance features that keep you and your family safe on the road.
The 2023 Subaru Ascent comes in six trim levels to give buyers greater choice in the options they get for their Ascent. The Touring trim is the highest trim level, representing the best that the Ascent has to offer and opening up even more options. Here's a closer look at everything that you can expect to find on the 2023 Subaru Ascent Touring trim:
Exterior Styling and Features
The 2023 Subaru Ascent has a substantial yet sophisticated profile that blends both beauty and brawn. It has a wide and tall profile that is perfectly balanced with its size, but it doesn't look bulky or blocky. Tailored lines are sculpted throughout the body, including the hood, side profile, and rear end, to enhance the overall style. A large, hexagonal front grille features a unique grid design that is elegantly cut through by a chrome accent bar and the Subaru logo. Black and chrome accents provide tasteful detailing throughout.
The Touring trim comes in 11 exterior color options, including:
- Dark Mahogany Pearl (a deep red)
- Magnetite Gray Metallic
- Cosmic Blue Pearl (a dark blue)
- Ice Silver Metallic
- Aztec Red (a bright red)
- Porcelain White Pearl
- Bordeaux Pearl (black)
- Crystal White Pearl (a medium silver)
- Autumn Green Metallic
- Corsa Red Metallic (a dark red)
- Crystal Black Silica
Some of the exterior features on the Touring trim include a lip spoiler, 20-inch alloy wheels, a steel spare wheel and compact spare tire, chrome side mirrors and door handles, a black grille with chrome surround, perimeter and approach lights, LED brakelights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a fixed rear window with a wiper and defroster. Roof rails are also standard.
Many more features are available as options, including front fog lamps, deep tinted glass, and a first and second-row sunroof with power sunshade.

Interior Styling and Configuration
The 2023 Subaru Ascent has a gorgeous and comfortable interior. With the Touring trim, both style and comfort are elevated for maximum enjoyment.
Soft-touch materials are used throughout the cabin, including leatherette trim, and the upholstery is upgraded to leather. Not only does this change create a more sophisticated look for the interior, but it also makes the seats easier to keep clean. The front and rear seats are heated, and the front seats are also ventilated, ensuring that there is a comfortable seat no matter what the temperature is like outside.
Though the base model Ascent is configured to seat eight, the Touring is designed to seat seven. The second-row bench seat is replaced with captain's chairs. In exchange for losing a seat, the remaining passengers get more comfortable seating, and the back row becomes easier to access, making the ride more enjoyable for everyone. There are also cupholders in the back, as well as HVAC ducts under the seats, in the headliner, and in the pillars.
The cargo area holds 17.8 cubic feet. With the seats folded down, that space maxes out at 75.6 cubic feet. The Touring trim also offers concealed storage space in the cargo area, as well as cargo area lighting.
Other interior features on the Touring trim include delay off interior lighting, driver and passenger vanity mirrors with lighting, front and rear map lights, an illuminated locking glove box, and a valet function. Steering wheel-mounted controls include cruise control.
Of course, more features are available as options, including power rear windows, a roll-up cargo cover, a heated leather steering wheel with a metal look, voice-activated dual-zone climate control, and more.
Power and Performance
The same powertrain is featured on all trim levels of the 2023 Subaru Ascent: A 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that puts out 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission, and symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard. An X-Mode is also included. The Ascent offers you the power and performance you'll need to explore most types of terrain, but it gives you the type of handling that make driving easy and fun.
Other mechanical features also enhance performance, including a brake actuated limited slip differential, a double wishbone rear suspension with coil springs, and gas-pressurized shock absorbers.
Fuel economy for the 2023 Ascent is estimated at 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. It gets a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg.
Towing equipment is standard, including trailer sway control. With the right trailer hitch, the Ascent Touring can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Convenience Features and Technology
The 2023 Subaru Ascent comes with advanced technology and convenience features that enhance the driving experience, and the Touring trim includes the best that the Ascent has to offer.
A large 11.6-inch touchscreen display provides the controls for the infotainment system, which includes a premium Harman Kardon audio system and built-in navigation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and there are USB ports for streaming and charging devices. A 120-volt outlet is also included to power other devices.
Some of the convenience features included on the Touring trim include a power liftgate, a smart rearview mirror with a compass, and the Subaru Starlink multimedia system.

Safety Features
Subaru is known for making vehicles that outdoor enthusiasts can take off the beaten path. Hand in hand with that reputation, Subaru is also known for creating vehicles that are very safe. The 2023 Subaru Ascent Touring is loaded with driver assistance features that will keep all passengers safer.
The Touring includes the EyeSight driver assistance technology suite, which includes lane keep assistance, lane departure warning, a dedicated 180-degree front camera system, and automatic emergency braking.
Some other safety features include electronic stability control, driveline traction control, rear child safety locks, and a suite of airbags for all three rows of seating. There is also an airbag occupancy sensor.
Additional safety features are available, including blind spot monitoring, a driver monitoring alert, a 360-degree surround view camera with an overhead view, and restricted driving mode.
Options Packages
Numerous options packages are available for the Touring that buyers can choose to add on specific features that they'd like.
One of the simpler packages adds auto-dimming exterior and interior mirrors.
The Popular Package #1 adds a rear bumper cover, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a cargo tray, and all-weather floor liners. The Popular Package #2A adds many of the same features - a rear bumper cover, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cargo tray, and all-weather floor liners - as well as LED map and reading lights and splash guards.
The Convenience Package adds technology upgrades. The package includes a power liftgate with automatic close and height memory, keyless entry, push-button start, a lock and unlock sensor for the front doors, PIN code door access, and more (including various lights and indicators). It also includes reverse automatic braking.
The Technology Package includes the most upgrades (and requires the biggest investment, as a result). Features that come with the Technology Package include a retractable cargo area cover, satin chrome power-folding exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, a panoramic power moonroof with dark tinted glass, HD radio, voice-activated infotainment controls, and a 14-speaker sound system with subwoofer.
The Technology Package also features Cabin Connect, which enables communication from the front seats throughout the cabin without the need to speak loudly. Finally, it also comes with the surround view monitor system, which combines images from the four vehicle cameras (front, rear, and exterior mirrors) so that the entire area around the vehicle can be seen.
Combining any of these packages with the Touring trim can help you maximize the features you enjoy on your new Ascent. You can enjoy a luxurious ride packed with the latest
