2023 Subaru Legacy Trims & Packages

The 2023 Subaru Legacy is back, and it has updated tech, a new face and a more powerful and fun-to-drive Sport trim. This was a mid-lifecycle boost and is certainly an improvement on the already-great previous years. Like previous generations, the 2023 Subaru Legacy has plenty of trims and packages to choose from. Here is a look at the 2023 Subaru, and the available trims and packages.
The 2023, the trim levels are the following: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT and Touring XT. With the XT tacked on, it means that it's a turbocharged version. From the least expensive to the most expensive, every Subaru Legacy comes with all-wheel drive. All models also enjoy a more prominent grille, more complex LED headlights, a freshened fresh bumper and plenty of safety features, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist.
Base
The Legacy base is well-equipped, though anyone who has the money should consider going a little higher. Not because they won't enjoy the Base model, but more because there are so many options and add-ons that make the other models much better. However, if money is tight, you can't do wrong with the base, which offers 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlights, high-beam assist and even remote keyless entry. Also, standard is a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen as well as a 7-inch screen just for climate control. All in all, it's not bad for a base model, but it's just the beginning. With that being said, if your budget isn't' huge, the Base model should be more than enough to satisfy your needs.
Premium
With the Premium version, you are starting to get the goodies that most people want. One big upgrade is the infotainment interface, which is much bigger at 11.6 inches and also offers Wi-Fi hotspot setup. For tech lovers, there are two USB ports for the rear seat. Drivers will enjoy the upgraded 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat as well as the 3-mode heated front seat. If you want to invest a little more, you can get push-button start, a power moonroof and navigation. The Premium trim is great for those who want a lot but don't want to pay too much, and this may be the best option for many.
Limited
The Legacy Limited builds on the Premium grade. With the Limited, you get all the options that the Premium gives, plus you get 18-inch alloy wheels, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and an 8-way power-adjustable passenger seat. Also included are a HomeLink transceiver, a Harman Kardon audio system, automatic reverse emergency braking and even perforated-leather seating is standard.
Sport
Without a doubt, if you want to keep things interesting, the Legacy Sport is what you want to check out. With 260 horses under the hood and a 2.4-liter turbocharged flat 4-cylinder engine, the Legacy is a blast to drive. It's a step-up from the Premium trim, and all the options that are listed for Premium, with the exception of navigation, are standard on the Sport. Also included are outboard mirrors that offer integrated turn signals, reverse automatic emergency braking and a power moonroof. With SI-Drive, you will get three driver modes, Sport, Intelligent and Sport Sharp. Intelligent gives the best fuel economy, while Sport Sharp is the most aggressive. Without a doubt, if you want a sporty feel, the Legacy Sport with its 277-lb-ft of torque is a great option. The Sport edition is where Subaru really was able to show off their power and drivability, and if you take one for a spin, you will understand.
Limited XT
The Limited XT offers driver-alert warning, which is sometimes called Driver Monitoring System. This offers cameras and other sensors to ensure that the driver is paying attention, and if not, an audible alert is sounded. Another benefit is a heated steering wheel, which is key in cold climates. Finally, there is an enhanced navigation system, which offers turn-by-turn directions so you can get to your destination.
Touring XT
Topping the Legacy trim levels, the Touring XT offers everything that you would want. It builds upon the Limited XT, adding power-folding outboard mirrors, Nappa leather seating with tan stitching and ventilated front seats. This blows cold air through the perforated leather, keeping you comfortable, even during the hottest summer days. The Touring XT is where the Subaru Legacy starts to get very comfortable and resemble a luxury car, at least on the inside.
What Legacy level is the best will depend on a host of factors, and of course, your budget. Nobody would deny that the Touring XT is the best option. However, if your budget is a bit tight, the Legacy Premium hits the sweet spot and gives you just about everything you need. However, all the Legacy editions are safe, fun to drive and get decent fuel economy. Coupled with powerful engines, along with all-wheel drive, and you have yourself a winner, no matter what version you get.
