First Look 2022 Subaru Ascent

When you're looking for a new SUV, don't forget to check out what Subaru has to offer. Because while Subaru might be better known for their smaller vehicles, one look at the Subaru Ascent will change that thought process forever.

It's a larger SUV that comes with all the bells and whistles of a typical Subaru. So, what did Subaru add to their 2022 Ascent? Well just keep reading, and we'll break it all down for you.

New Features

While we'd love to highlight a bunch of different features in the 2022 Subaru Ascent, the truth is that Subaru stuck with a package that works. So, while the only new addition is the 2022 Onyx Edition, that's alright because the 2021 Subaru Ascent was already doing so many things right.

The all-new Onyx Edition is in addition to their Premium trim level, and it includes extra black-out exterior components and new 20-inch rims.

Other features include a hands-free liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and standard rear automated emergency braking. These are all features that you can add onto other trim levels, but with the Onyx Edition they come standard.

Reliable Returns

The 2022 Subaru Ascent might not have a ton of new features but considering everything they were already doing right that's not a big deal.

For starters, all-wheel-drive comes standard, as does captain-style rear passenger seats. Each model comes with a 2.4L 260-horsepower turbocharged engine, and it has an impressive 5,000-pound towing capacity.

And while seven seats come standard, there are eight-seat options available too. The Starlink Multimedia Infotainment standard comes in every vehicle, and it's extremely responsive with large icons that are easy to use.

Finally, there are SOS and a concierge service available with the click of a button, which makes your life both a bit safer and a bit more convenient.

Safety is Paramount

One of the most important things to check out when you're purchasing an SUV is their safety ratings. And when you do that with the 2022 Subaru Ascent, it comes back with flying colors.

Not only does it have a 5-star NHTSA safety rating, but it gets five-star marks in every front and side collision category!

And since avoiding an accident is always better than dealing with one after the fact, Subaru includes their Standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with their 2022 Ascent. This feature gives you pre-collision braking and adaptive cruise control with lane countering.

Not only that, but they have optional upgrades for blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts and reverse automatic braking. It's never been safer to get behind the wheel of a Subaru Ascent.

The Warranty

One of the advantages of going with a new car is the warranty, and with the 2022 Subaru Ascent that's no different. Each model comes with a 3-year 36,000-mile comprehensive warranty and a 5-year 60,000-mile warranty. It's peace of mind that lasts, and that's a big deal.

Of course, if you want even more coverage than the helpful folks at Granite Subaru can help you out with that too.
